OUR NEW STEPS AND SIDEWALKS

Wow 4 posts in 2 days! I'm on a roll!! LOL

I am soooo excited about our new steps and sidewalks. We've had old, crappy wooden steps on the front of our house for 4 years and we kept saying "oh next year....". Well finally this year we did it and they are BEAUTIFUL. Who would of thought that I would get so excited about cement?? LOL

Here's a few pics of the process..

The girls really enjoyed watching the cement truck pour the cement.

Steps are done!

Now for the sidewalk:

Both sidewalks are finished now it's on to the landscaping and saving to get the driveway done. UGGHH!

4TH OF JULY WEEKEND

So we got home from camping on Thursday the 3rd and Friday the 4th Gus's mother (Carmen), brother (Wilder), his wife (Teresa), and their twin boys (Bryan and Brandon) came for a visit. It was so nice to see them again. We hadn't seen his mom since last October and hadn't seen his brother (and family) since last summer. It was so nice catching up and watching the kids play together. It makes me so sad that the kids only get to see their cousins once or twice a year. They really get along so well. Marcelo cried on and off for a couple days after they left, saying that he misses his cousins and wishes he could see them all the time. Broke my heart. Guess we'll have to make a trip up there sometime soon. :)

We had a great weekend watching the kids play in the pool and on the trampoline, talking, and trying to console screaming toddlers most of the weekend. Sofiya got a fever Thursday night and was pretty miserable by Friday and Saturday. Sunday she was finally feeling a bit better. So needless to say I had to hold her most of the weekend and I got NO sleep because when she did sleep at all, it had to be with me and she kept having severe sleep apnea and was scaring me so bad that I had to stay awake and listen to her to make sure she kept breathing. Poor girl. Anyway.. I think I may have been a bit moody with getting no sleep (and PMS'ing lol) so I apologize to Gus's family for not being myself. You know I love you guys right??

Abuela Carmen and Marcelo

Tio' Wilder and Sofiya (she had just gotten out of the pool and was exhausted... this was one of the ONLY times she let him hold her)

Abuela Carmen and Kalia (again she just got out of the pool and this was one of the only times anyone got to hold her besides me or daddy)

Marcelo doing one of his tricks on the trampoline

Look at that height ~ Way to go Britt!

Brittani does her flips so well. She's such a daredevil!

Marcelo doing his sparklers on the 4th. (sorry this pic is blurry but I didn't realize that someone had put it on manual focus and it was too dark to see it was blurry at the time)

Carmen had to get in on the sparkler action too!

Posing for pics.. That's my sister in law Teresa beside me in the back.

OUR CAMPING TRIP WITH YOGI & GANG!

So let me just say that I LOVE camping! And this is the way to go ~ Rent a cabin in the mountains with running water and electric!!! Roughing it is for cowboys or crazy people!! Anyway our cabin was very small so THANK GOD my brother decided to meet us there and he decided to rent a 2nd cabin cuz all together there were 12 of us!!! Holy that would have been crowded and made for some moody people!! Ok so on to other things.. We had such a great time sitting by the fire, cooking over the fire (or at least trying to and getting some good laughs), roasting marshmallows and getting silly and making smores of course. And that was just when we stayed at the cabin. This campground has free train rides, wagon rides, picnic basket rides (yes I said picinic basket), tons of activities for kids, water slides, mini golf, mining sleuce, outdoor movies, a pool and water area for the little ones, craft projects, and best of all my parents rented a golf cart so we didn't have to climb up and down the mountain to do all these things! Thanks gramma!! :)

Two of the days we were there we decided to leave the campground and go to a local park/hiking area with beautiful waterfalls and hiking trails. It was so great. The first hike we went on was a short one and we took all the kids but the babies (due to high climbs and rocky terrain). It was so beautiful. You had to walk down this hill and when you got to the bottom there was this beautiful waterfall and when you kept walking you got to the river where it was just beautiful nature all around us. No houses, buildings, or roads... just trees, rocks and water. GORGEOUS!

On the 2nd day that we left the campground we decided to go on a hike that we could take the babies on. It was a former railroad so it was flat and perfect for a stroller. It was just amazing. First we had to cross this high bridge that went over the highway. (I am affraid of heights and was a bit scared I have to admit) then shortly after that bridge we were in the middle of the forrest it seemed. So beautiful and the trail just seemed endless. We came along a 2nd bridge that was higher and much longer than the first (I was more than a little scared on this one but I marched along and even took some pics) and had the most beautiful views. Just breathtaking! I'm not sure how long we walked but when the babies started getting cranky we turned around. It was a great day.

Oh and the last full day we were up there Gus, Cody, Marcelo, Brittani and I decided to go on the waterslides (not the natural one below but acutal water slides) it was so fun! I hadn't been on a waterslide since I was like 8! We were all giggling away. I felt like a kid again and I am so glad I decided to do it (I almost didn't).

I love being up in the mountains and can't wait to go again next year! I plan on seeing snow capped mountains one of these years. I can't even imagine how beautiful they must be in person.

Anyway here's a few pics of our adventures:

Our tiny little cabin

Inside of our tiny little cabin

Yogi and the girls (who were scared to death) and Me, Pappy, Gramma and the twins all taking a train ride.

Kalia & Marcelo mini golfing with mom & dad.

Sofiya concentrating on making par.

Kalia decided to sit on Sofiya's lap by the fire.

Kalia's very first carosel ride

Sofiya's very first carosel ride

Sofiya going down the water slide at the pool. She LOVED it despite what her face says. LOL. And Kalia stood like this for at least 1/2 hour, she just loved playing in that little fountain.

Marcelo teaching Sofiya how to be silly.

One of the bridges on our hike (Special thanks to my friend Shar for making me feel like this is something we can do with twins). OMG was it fun. So beautiful and peaceful and the girls loved it!

We stopped at a super high overlook and I was scared to death. Jeff and Gus decided to strike a pose and nearly gave me a heart attack! They were so close to the edge of that cliff!

Notice how tight I am grabbing Marcelo's arm. On the other side of that fence is a VERY far drop! I was petrified. I am terribly affraid of heights!

Brittani and Sofiya on our hike and Marcelo crashed as soon as we got back to the cabin. He wanted to see us outside so this is how he fell asleep. LOL

Marcelo boxing a tree with a beautiful waterfall in the background that was from one of our other hikes

Beautiful Britt with a beautiful background

Jeff thinking he's a bear or snake or something.

Cody and Marcelo at the natural waterslide. We actuallly saw a couple guys go down this. TOO FUNNY!

Jeff wanted to go down it so bad (it's much longer and rougher than it seems in the photo) but he didn't bring a change of clothes and we had many hikes to go on!

Marcelo and Boo Boo and that's him being Ranger Smith too!

Cody and Marcelo making sure everyone knows NOT to feed the bears and OH NO! Watch out for that horse! :)

KENNYWOOD!

I know I know... it's been a while since i've posted so be prepared because I am about to bombard you with tons of pictures and stories of what we have been up to since my last post many weeks ago.

First is our trip to Kennywood at the end of June. SOOO FUN! Kennywood is an amusement park near Pittsburgh with lots of rollercoasters and rides and the kids just had so much fun. Well all the kids sans Jeff becuase he wasn't interested in going. He's so weird. Anyway... Marcelo was scared at first but soon enough the rollercoasters became his favorite thing and we had to ride them over and over! :) (Just like his mommy!) Cody and Brittani liked everything (as most teenagers do) and Gus and I rode what we had to and a few things we actually enjoyed LOL! And best part is that we got to go WITHOUT the babies! My mom graciously offered to watch them and we were more than happy to oblige! Such a fun day.

Gus, Marcelo and Cody about to get on the Parachutes.
